Escape from Absolom (also known as No Escape) is a sci-fi action thriller set in a brutal, lawless future.
Directed by Martin Campbell, the film stars Ray Liotta as Captain J.T. Robbins, a U.S. Marine convicted of murdering his commanding officer. As punishment, he is sent to Absolom—an isolated island prison where the worst criminals are abandoned without guards, rules, or hope of escape.
On the island, society has split into two factions: a savage, violent group known as the “Outsiders,” and a more civilized community called the “Insiders,” who try to maintain order and humanity. After surviving brutal attacks and harsh conditions, Robbins joins the Insiders and begins planning the seemingly impossible—escaping from Absolom.
The film combines intense action, survival drama, and themes about human nature, freedom, and whether society can survive without laws.
